Microsoft WPC 08 – opening keynote
We had an interesting first set of sessions this morning at the world wide partner conference of Microsoft in Houston. Alisson Watson, the VP for partners, opened the conference today in the Toyota Center. 12000 attendees heard here giving the main themes that will be addressed in the next few days.
Microsoft had, in the communications leading to this conference, already focused on customer statisfaction.
In this partner conference, Microsoft will work in several areas to increase the way customers perceive the quality delivered by Microsoft and its partners:
- Software plus Service, the answer of Microsoft to the Software as a service (SaaS) movement in our industry;
- The launch momentum of previous and upcoming new versions and products
- Vista deployment. It seems that Microosft will try to convince the partner community to migrate to Vista themselves, before they can sell this to their customers in a credible fashion.
More to come in the next days.
